Tacoma to get an Automobile Museum

February 11, 2009 by tacomastaradmin

The Museum is planned to be a place of celebration, a venue for car shows, auctions, club and corporate gatherings, even music festivals.

The Museum campus will consist of a six acre Show Field, storage for 1,000 cars, retail and dining “mall,” and interactive exhibits, as well as an education and restoration center.

The projected completion of the museum is somewhere in the 2010-2011 time frame and will be a major attraction for the city of Tacoma.

The City of Tacoma has donated a wonderful site valued at $17,500,000 for the Museum adjacent to the downtown just off Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome.

Proposed Automobile Museum Location In Downtown Tacoma

The current museum is located in Marymount and is currently open to the public year-round for tours of over 300 collector cars on the grounds of the former Marymount Military Academy.
